Recent Projects
This interactive bench features programmable LEDs and sound effects, designed specifically for public installations to encourage pause and engagement.
It can be controlled remotely, allowing for flexible and dynamic interaction management.
Vettore is a cordless, CNC-machined aluminum LED spotlight designed for maximum flexibility. Its magnetic base allows instant, cable-free installation on any metallic surface. Providing over 8 hours of autonomy and 360° adjustability, it is the ideal professional solution for galleries and retail. This system combines engineering precision with a refined aesthetic to highlight architectural details.
We engineered a high-end, motorized display for international retail hubs (Dubai, Milan, Munich). The system synchronizes fragrance selection with dedicated audio tracks through a custom control logic. This project highlights our ability to deliver reliable, interactive mechatronics for luxury brand activations that require seamless, high-traffic operation.
This integrated ecosystem utilizes PDAs with thermal printers, NFC/QR technology, AI cameras, and custom loadcells to track waste from source to disposal, enhancing accountability and sorting precision through data-driven engineering.
We engineered a high-capacity sand battery system designed to store surplus solar energy as heat. This solution enables long-term thermal energy storage (LDES), releasing power gradually during off-peak hours. A cost-effective and sustainable alternative to traditional chemical batteries for industrial and residential grid balancing.
Our Experience
Makr Shakr Robotic Bar
We were part of the engineering heart behind Makr Shakr’s R&D. We transformed a futuristic robotic concept into a reliable, worldwide product, mastering the hardware-software integration needed to serve thousands of users across all continents.
Scribit
Founded by Andrea Bulgarelli with MIT Prof. Carlo Ratti, Scribit is a world-renowned drawing robot. We managed the entire journey from initial concept to global retail distribution, scaling production to 12,000+ units across 30 countries. fter a record-breaking $2.4M crowdfunding campaign, we took Scribit from a lab prototype to the shelves of the MoMA Design Store. Recognized by TIME Magazine as a "Best Invention," it stands as a testament to our end-to-end product development expertise.
Remidi Glove
Andrea Bulgarelli led the end-to-end design and engineering of the Remidi Glove, a sensor-integrated wearable. We managed the transition from R&D to mass production, successfully delivering 1,000+ units. A key case study in complex wearable hardware and smart-textile manufacturing.
Puracase
Engineered by Vitalie Ciornii, Puracase is a smart, soft-shell closet for garment care. It utilizes controlled Ozone technology to eliminate odors, bacteria, and viruses from fabric surfaces. A compact solution merging advanced chemical sanitization with portable industrial design.
Smartbin.io
As CTO, Andrea Bulgarelli led the technical strategy to deploy autonomous robots for waste collection in high-traffic environments like airports and malls. We focused on scaling mobile robotics from PoC to functional deployment, mastering autonomous navigation and fleet management in crowded public spaces.
S4FE
From the ground up, we gave S4FE its technical foundation. As R&D partners, we designed the early-stage hardware and the logic behind its algorithms, proving our ability to bridge the gap between a visionary idea and a working, high-tech prototype.
Solar Panels Recycling System
Vitalie's Proiecto engineered a self-contained, autonomous unit for the on-site recycling of solar panel components. This system eliminates logistics overhead by processing materials directly at the installation site, offering a sustainable, circular economy solution for the renewable energy sector.
Solar Moka
Commissioned by Lavazza to Carlo Ratti Associati, we engineered the solar concentration system for the Italian Pavilion at Expo 2020. Andrea executed a high-precision solar-following mirror that optimizes thermal energy to pre-heat water for coffee machines, merging sustainable energy with iconic industrial design.
Parloma
Developed in collaboration with Politecnico di Torino, Parloma is a pioneering communication interface for deaf-blind users. We engineered a low-cost, anthropomorphic robotic hand designed for tactile sign language. This project set a new benchmark in assistive technology, supported by multiple international peer-reviewed research papers.
